I think you are misinterpreting my point. The fact that LeBron doesn’t have a ring doesn’t make him bad. He is still a hall of famer.

I’m talking about this absurd “look at me, look at me” primetime special. That would be gaudy even by Deon Sanders standards.

If Jordan did something like this after coming back from baseball, I wouldn’t be as critical. Why? Because at that point Michael Jordan had three rings, was obviously by far the best basketball of his generation and was, in fact, Michael Fucking Jordan. LeBron, meanwhile, isn’t the best player of his generation. He isn’t even the best basketball player right now. That’s Kobe.

Jordan would have earned the right to be an egomaniacal jackass.
