Back in the day when the JBS was created, they were the reactionary movement to the modernism that was flourishing in higher education. In some ways I think the JBS crowd had to try to be more erudite (than today’s screeching right-wingers on blogs and forums) because they wanted to portray themselves as the alternate to the “communist” college professor crowd.
