It has been noted by many that Mitt Romney does well in states that Obama will carry in November.

Even if true (and it seems so), what does that mean?

I think this race will end up being a lot closer than anyone believes now simply because they do take it for granted. Voter apathy on the left (Obama is obviously going to win anyway) and the groundless “get that evil socialist (muslim) that is destroying America Out!” fervor on the Right are going to combine to make this election a near toss-up.

We. Will. Lose. If people stay home instead of driving to the polls or decide it isn’t worth their time to leave work to vote. People seem comfortable in predicting an Obama victory, that isn’t going to happen if too many folks rely on others to make it to the polls for them.

If we lose even a tiny percentage of the small percentage of citizens who actually vote it will make a big difference on election day. I really wish people would quit saying Obama has this election in the bag, he doesn’t, especially if people really start to believe it to be true and don’t bother to show up on election day.
