I don’t buy the video game link. I know people who develop games, and who play games, including violent first person shooters. They don’t go around shooting up schools.

I saw the CBS news report - to me, it sounded like he used the games for little more than virtual target practice (i.e. they were a means to an end, not the initial inspiration for it)
