This isn’t much of a threat. But, imagine this scenario:

North Korea launches a missile at the U.S. under the cover of a “test.” We, or Japan, shoots it down. The Norks respond with a full (14,000 artillery pieces) artillery attack on Seoul which kills thousands and burns the city down. At the same time, Iran closes the Straits of Hormuz. A week later (while all our naval assets are on the way to the Persian gulf) China launches a full-scale invasion of Taiwan.
