re: #448 Alouette

I thought liver and mushrooms and beer were bad for gout?

I remember about a year ago, my foot swelled up to twice its size, it was excruciating to walk, and I went to the emergency room. They said it was just my regular degenerative arthritis. When I went to the MD the next day he said I presented symptoms of gout, but my purine level was normal. Very strange, they never did find out what caused it.

A couple days on Vicodin solved that little problem.

All those are bad, but herring is worse.

If it starts in your big toe, and feels hot, it’s gout, though men get it far more often than women. Hurts like the DICKENS. Your purine level can be low by the time you get tested, and minor cases will clear if you clean up your diet and drink a ton of water, and there are some drugs to speed things up, too. And, there’s Vicodin!
