I’m assuming that there isn’t an easy way to add a remote mic in your helmet for voice over.

Trying to shield wind noise with normal foam rubber can work, depending on what you have. Mic wind screens are closed cell to prevent the wind from passing through. But, taken to extremes you end up with muffled sound.

So my advice is try it!

You might try an experiment involving you puffing into the mic through your foam filter and also recording with it indoors to see how it blocks wind sounds v/s changes your sound pickup quality???
