I wonder if they’re worried about a Bork situation. Bork would have definitely voted to overturn Roe… hell, he’d have voted to overturn Griswold and its progeny regarding the right to privacy.

When Bork was defeated, we got Kennedy, and their chances of imposing their puritan world view was crushed for three decades.

Maybe they’re worried that any Kavanaugh replacement would be less likely to side with the Christian taliban.

Bork is a pivotal part of the right wing’s mythos of victimization, and exactly as true as their fables of Reagan and Buckley. He was full of shit and hopped on any legal theory that justified his reactionary instincts.

When they invoke Bork as a victim, it’s to reaffirm that what is right is only defined by what is expedient to their needs.

How they’re treating Kavanaugh…who’s a hack jurist who’s literally been groomed by an organization to fulfill their agenda…is a continuation of the Vaseline-on-the-lens picture of Bork, “principled originalist.”
