The 401(k), which doesn’t quite take the place of pensions, and into which most people have no choice but bet their meager savings on the markets. That is if your employer offers it, gives you a company match, etc.
The 401(k), which the GOP thinks is what should replace Social Security. Gambling on granny’s future - even though Social Security is funded by payroll deductions - a dedicated tax. The GOP wouldn’t mind gutting that and claiming that they’re saving Social Security and Medicaid/Medicare solvency all while destroying it.
The reason GOP isn’t reacting to Trump with the same utter horror as the rest of us is that they see in him the means to achieve their fondest wish of gutting Social Security and Medicare.
