I am not saying he was great. My favorite field Allied American general FWIW is Omar Bradley. I am also fond of George C. Marshall who had to juggle all those egos.

How’d I forget about Marshall? He is one of the greats. I blame lack of coffee.

What he went on to accomplish after the war was even better. The Marshall Plan is the best example of winning the peace there is.

That’s one thing warmongers forget. After the war there is a lot to do and it has to be done right or too many people will have given up their lives for nothing.
