In a goofy kind of way, this is like a validation of what women have been experiencing forever. Those experiences that are mostly blown off as no big deal, whaddya whining about? I mean, it’s just games. Right? Except to a segment of menfolk whose very identities seem threatened by the merest hint of estrogen bespoiling their manspace. That’s an actual thing now in real estate, men gotta have their man caves free of girl cooties, presumably. Like “No Girls Alowed” treehouses in the days of the Little Rascals.

GamerGate is so nothing new to women. That it seems so surprising to many men is at once heartening and sad,

I’ve been a gamer for years and years and years, and …really, it’s not surprising at all.
