I’m struck by how accurate the books are. Fear by Woodward etc. Then there is everything we can see and hear for ourselves. Deranged angry tweets from a guy in The Office where you want calm, intelligence and wisdom. At least the best effort, past presidents have had famous tempers. But self-restraint kicked in. Not with this guy, Hence the lies and the extra cruelties along the way.

I’d use the term disciplined instead of calm, but your point stands about the traits you want. We’ve survived unintelligent presidents, we’ve survived unwise presidents, we’ve even survived some hot heads. But we’ve never seen one - at least not in modern times - that lacks all three of those traits, until now. And it’s an utter disaster.
