re: #4 SanFranciscoZionist

Why, that would be religious persecution on a par with the worst atrocities of Hitler and Stalin, ma’am. Why do you ask?

(I remain fascinated by the number of people who insist on saying that they are anti-ISLAM, not anti-MUSLIM, as though this made some sort of sense, and should make you ashamed of suggesting they were anti-MUSLIM.)

This rather reminds me of the anti-Chunnel activist I saw being interviewed back in the 80s. The “Chunnel,” the tunnel under the English Channel, attracted a veritable zoo of opponents while it was in planning and under construction. The chap in the interview represented a group who saw the tunnel as a source of additional, and unwanted, French presence in Britain. He was asked if he were anti-French. He responded, “Why, no, of course not. We greatly admire many things about France, French art and architecture, French wine, French food, and French culture. It’s just the goddamned French people we can’t stand.”
