They haven’t tried repealing the 13th amendment yet. And I’m not sure if I can say that sarcastically since while I doubt none of them personally would support slavery, they probably naively believe that slavery not being illegal wouldn’t result in slavery re-occuring since it already does occur with its outlawing.

They’d want to leave outlawing slavery up to the states. You know, because owning another human being is something you should vote on.
