So I got a mail like that one. I had just gotten a new Cyrillic keyboard and was itching to try it out, so I started corresponding with Yulia, or whoever it was, figuring I would drop the issue as soon as she started asking me to send her money.

She never did, in fact, she said that she had just received a bonus and wanted to come visit me in Germany at her won expense, even had a flight booked and everything.

I was nonetheless suspicious as she never seemed to answer any personal questions, just general bla bla about her hometown and how much she enjoyed romantic walks and candlelight dinners, etc.

So I just googles “russian women + scam” and found out the deal: You go down to pick her up from the airport. She does not show. You get a tearful message saying that she was denied entry at customs unless she could show that she had 𠫂,000 in cash before she could enter the country (there is no such law or restriction).

She asks if you could wire her the money, she will pay it back as soon as she sees you.

You never see or hear from her again.

In any case, it was good practice on my new keyboard.

So what you saying, my Nigerian Prince is a fraud?
