Why do these wingnuts always try to claim that natural events are G-D’s punishment for tolerating Gay people but never G-D’s punishment for neglecting the poor and needy?

The destruction of Sodom and Gomorroh in scripture was because they abused the poor and needy and refused to give shelter to strangers, nothing to do with gay sex.
