These are offshoots of the “Jesus freaks” of the late 60’s and early 70’s that were organized around Orange County by Chuck Smith.
Their claim to fame was their non-denominationality. However, IMO they are in practice a denomination. Essentially pentecostal types who didn’t want to associate with the snake handlers and the old time pentecostals, nor were comfortable with the Southern Baptist type of denominations.
Extremely religious and highly influenced by theocratic teachings. Chuck Misler became their leading theologian after Chuck Smith.
