This is a stupid thing to waste any time on. But city councils all over waste money on the stupidest shit all the time. I am not even surprised. Berkeley just happened to choose a sexy subject. My hometown has spent multiple meetings discussing whether or not to merge the football teams of the two high schools in the town. Many meetings, much time and money. It is probably why I don’t find local government to be so much more effective than state or national government. Turns out, people like to talk.

Get used to the occasional flare up here of complaining and of news article links “proving” that Sf suck (as if your job qualifications for a specific job mark you as a good person, lol sheep-like careerist) or is stupid, or is crazy, or is unamerican, or hates the military, or is anti-christian, or whatever

It happens less than it did back when the roost was ruled by loonies, but it still happens a lot. There’s still a lot of adversarial smearing of California
