I’m afraid the Democrats became dependent upon Obama’s charisma without looking at the underlying weakness in the Democratic strategy.

That weakness is this: reactionary movements to modernity have more purchase than idealism.

But if the US had equal voting rights in which every vote counted the same the GOP would’ve lost in a landslide last night.
