that’s why we are discussing fringe elements and their impact on politics…they are in the drivers seat…the vast electorate allows the kooks to drive the bus…most people can’t name their own senators

I don’t think that it is a matter of allowing them to do anything.
They exercise their rights & are overly agressive & sure of thir positions even in the face of contrary facts.
I recall a case study in Sociology , could have been Max Weber, claimimg that street gang leadership was assumed by the most agressive nut.
Could be in play with fringe players.
