I have no idea what that stuff is. I don’t eat food I can’t identify, haha. Those balls of whatever, meat or fish, look raw…nope, don’t indulge in that.

At any rate, to be diplomatic, you put it on your plate, but that doesn’t mean you necessarily eat it. Talk a lot until the next course…

Anyway, I just had some homemade chunky chicken soup. : )

Years ago, I was with a friend at the House of Louie in Portland, OR and the lady with the dumpling cart came by. I grabbed a hum bao because I like them. My friend asked what was in it, and the dumpling cart lady replied, “It’s meat.” So she (hesitantly) took one as well.

When she left, as I was eating mine, I couldn’t resist the temptation. I told my friend, “Hum bao is rather unique as a dish - it’s the only one I can think of that’s named after the person it’s made from.”

She put down her hum bao, and said, “Fuck you, Dr Lizardo.”

Ah, good times.
