Crows, like all other corvids, are very intelligent indeed.
Konrad Lorenz, a long time ago, did some excellent work on rooks.
And if you want to learn about ravens, there is none better than Berd Heinrichs, a professor in Vermont, who did some outstanding field work, and wrote some wonderful books about it.
‘Ravens in Winter’, and ‘The Mind of the Raven’ for example - they are out in pb!
