No, we’re not. I don’t believe in a son of god, obviously. But that there was a “teacher of righteousness” who was named Jesus, had disciples and was likely executed, - that would amount to a historical Jesus.

Engineer DogCat was arguing that there has to be author(s) of the writings, which I don’t dispute, that practically can be considered Jesus, you’re arguing that there could very well be an historical Jesus, and I’m arguing there was definitely no ‘son of god’ Jesus and likely no historical Jesus because there is no direct evidence for such a specific man, everything we have is after the fact.
