Absolutely, and this is why I have a problem with the “rights of the fetus” argument. Granting a fetus inalienable rights cannot happen without taking away some of the rights of the woman carrying it.

Moves to grant fetuses rights or the status of personhood (as in some of the laws involving fetal homicides)* are always attempts to take away the rights of the woman.

*(notice I said ‘some’ of those laws. Some are framed in acceptable ways, some are not.)
