I think it’s fine that Matthews said that. We know what he meant, and it was actually a positive thing to say. What he meant was that there was, for an hour, no sense that we were watching our “first Black President” but just our wonderful, intelligent, grown up competent President.

Chris Matthews A SUPER OBAMA SUPPORTER, was TRYING to make a point (which some, took the wrong way) it is a FACT: that a BIG PERCENTAGE of the country, still has a problem with a BLACK PRESIDENT. Chris was trying to make the case that MOST OF US… have gotten past that, him being a “black president”. Those who took it the wrong way, need to know that CHRIS MATTHEWS IS THE BIGGEST OBAMA SUPPORTER ON TV… Chris was for Obama before Obama was for Obama.

What’s wrong with Matthews saying that Obama is getting him and a lot of other people past thinking about race? I think he was feeling good about a very positive development in what has been an historically racist country.
