A business is not public, it is private. You seem to have a incomplete understanding of the public versus private definition. If anyone but the government (local, state, federal) owns the business than it is a private business.

It is a violation of nobody’s rights for them to choose who they do business with.

You’re wrong. A business transacts in the free market of the public sphere. It does so using public works, public resources such as roads and utilities, and is authorised to do so under the auspices of the government. The regulation and protection of the free market is indeed one of the roles of government, and equality of opportunity in the free market is indeed one of the rights this country chooses to espouse. You appear to be confused as to the function of a government, and what a civil right actually is.
