Must I again point out that the Democrats took over in 2006, at which time unemployment was low, and economic growth was high? And that, 2 years later, everything started falling apart.

Immediately after they took over Congress, filibusters started spiking to unprecedented levels. The GOP monkey-wrench machine was in full gear. The Dems couldn’t have done anything in 2007-2008 to mess up the economy that was already lurching towards the cliff.
