Should I have said non-religious? Listen, I’m Agnostic myself. You’re reading me wrong. I’m saying that a lot of anti-gay people use non-religious rationale for their hatred of gay people. Homophobia is definitely more of a problem among hte religious than non-religious.

Happy, I understand what you are trying to say. However, what created the base hatred of gays in American but religion? It is the the root as far as I can tell…what else would it be? Biology and science education? I don’t think so. To me it is learned and if you could find the root to anyone thinking like that it may come from someone else they learned it from and they could be the one with the “because God hates gays” thinking.

The other thing, some may say it isn’t religious to protect their religion.
