OK, this is tough. My wife just went to the garage on her way to work. “OMG something is out here!”
I go out to investigate and sure enough there is a rodent stuck to a sticky pad I had put out months ago - thrashing about until I approach, and then it goes still.
“It’s nothing honey”
She drives away, I get a flashlight to see just what is what. There is a smallish roof rat? stuck by its front paws to the pad. Shit. It looked up at me. I feel really rotten. I think I will go have a drink or something. Please die fast Mr. Rat.

OK, that is the worst. Gopher catching at my house ended with, it’s still alive? you mean I have to club it? awful.
