A friend of my husband’s once nearly opened fire on his girlfriend’s peacock feather collection when it failed to answer his challenge.

In his defense, he said he was jittery because he’d heard shots up the street earlier in the evening.

I pointed out that that may have been some other dude shooting the hell out of a vase full of peacock feathers at his house.
