This is a good argument, and one that needs to be answered. After all, how fair is to ask someone to pay for a service that they (or their children) aren’t using? The answer is that they do in fact use the public education system everytime they interact with someone who has gained skills from that system. Professionals, tradespeople, customer service people who provide us with goods and serrvices. Everyone essentially uses the public education system every day of their lives. (Hell, even if only to the level that the guy who shares the road with them can read what the signs say.)
