Heh, when I went deep into Mexico (Mexico CIty) for the first time at age 17, I was quite taken aback when I ordered enchiladas and was brought a plate of (white) corn tortillas folded over into triangles and filled with queso fresco, served with a side order of pureed black beans.
I was like, “WTF—where are the enchiladas and why are the beans black??” LOL
Yeah heh that’s why I said Mexican-American. I like the corn tortillas more than I do the flour ones for what it’s worth.
