Somewhat random poll for the Lizards: written thank you notes for presents, yes or no?

Depends how close your relationship with the person, and how formal the occasion of the gift — if it’s a once-in-a-lifetime event (wedding, bar mitzvah, college graduation) even family gets written thank you notes; for birthday or christmas or no-special-reason gifts, the people you’re closest to get a phone call and written is for more formal relationships.

If it’s an unusually awesome huge/special gift, putting the thank you note on the card for a floral arrangement is good.
