Cool, I’ve been there — but in January, so the colors weren’t quite as striking.

Kyoto remains the favorite part of the trip for me.

As to your last anecdote, our host school when I visited was an English school for young women — imagine being surrounded by “interview the foreigners to practice” for three weeks!

I have lots more to process and post. As a photographer, Kyoto was amazing. As someone who isn’t fond of crowds, I loved northern Japan more.

I have a whole huge write-up to do but today will probably just be some photos and distractions. After the groceries.
