Which begs the question: why hasn’t the British Parliament laid the smackdown on this ass? There’s gotta be some kind of law on the books about pretending to be a Lord for financial gain. I guess misrepresentation doesn’t work if the people you’re taking money from (think tanks and energy companies) know about and depend on you lying about your status.

He is a Lord, technically - the 3rd Viscount of Brenchley. He may have falsely claimed membership in the House of Lords, but he’s allowed to use the title.
