But, that’s okay. Seriously. I give up on defending southerners. Steve was right.

he’s not prominent …. at least not yet. My main point is that here in New England, Republicans just don’t say the types of things you heard from the Tennessee guy. Because New England is so heavily Democratic, the only GOP politicians that do well have more moderate views. Tea parties are almost non existent in New England. And when you do hear local GOP figures speak, the things they say tend to be quite temperate. The guy in Tennessee probably reflects the views of many in his region. And the New England GOPers who do well have views that are more reflective of the locals up here. And that is not to say that we don’t have our share of ass holes in New England. We have plenty!
