CB1 has voted 24-11 to request that the LPC deny landmark status to 47 Park Row, which is where the Cordoba House proposal would build a mosque and community center.

Denying the landmarking status would help facilitate the construction since it wouldn’t require the group to redesign the facades or other spaces to preserve historical features.

If they’d declared Ground Zero historical landmark status, the twin towers could have been rebuilt by now.
