…I don’t like the idea of electing a president or vice president based on their health record. We should be able to vote for presidents even if they’re in poor health. We should be willing to take that chance. Otherwise, what would they have said about FDR in this day and age?

I think it’s worthwhile to distinguish between chronic health conditions, like migraines or a smoking habit, and serious and deteriorating health, like late stage cancer. The chronic stuff it’s not anyone’s business, but if a candidate is at an elevated chance of death or being incapacitated long-term, I think it’s appropriate for that to be publicized and to affect voting behavior.
