Well, I’m sure the pirates are aware that if there is no (that’s already been determined by United States policy) ransom money to be had (again, I’m assuming that this is already clear to all concerned — no ransom will be paid…this is a United States policy, set in stone since the days of the Barbary Pirates in Tripoli), then what other options (“good” options exist for the pirates?) Clearly, the pirates are either going to wind up dead or they will be spending the rest of their lives in a prison…those are the “negotiables.”
