re: #511 Bubblehead II

It doesn’t. The wife wanted a basic bicycle for exercise. Picked up a 24” Ladies/Girls Kent LaJolla today. Aluminum frame. Workmanship looks reasonable. Fenders look like an after thought and can be removed/adjusted. Also bought her a gel seat to replace the factory provided. Know anything about this brand. Model # is 32401.

Kent is a brand not found in bike shops. Of the non-bike shop brands, it tends to be one of the better ones. They are actually planning to bring manufacturing back to the US soon!

I don’t know anything about that model, I just looked at a review on a bike forum. Since it’s a basic one speed, it’s hard to go wrong. Set the seat high enough so she has good leg extension at the bottom of the pedal stroke. If the reach to the handlebar is comfortable, she’s all set. 24” wheels make it a small bike. If she’s over 5’ 5” or so, it might be too small. Keep the tires inflated to the maximum marked on the sidewall. If the area she wants to ride is flat, it should be fine. If not, she might want some gears to handle the hills. You’d have to start over.
