What I do find interesting is Whoopi made a big stink about O’Reilly’s Muslim remarks a few weeks ago when he was on The View (she even walked off the set), yet turns around and supports William’s remarks (on the same show), which were in the least as wrongheaded as O’Reilly’s.

Yes that’s fine but why is it interesting? And why is it interesting enough to keep bringing her up in discussions/arguments about other issues?

I mean if it wasn’t made part of the ‘news’ by people who filter the happenings in the world into the ‘new’ we consume would it still be as interesting? Is it news (and interesting) because it’s actually means something important to overall society or has it become more interesting because it made the ‘news’ to people beyond who watch the show.
