re: #514 Blind Frog Belly White
Well, buying a house without a mortgage depends on where you are buying a house.
Since I don’t want to live in Hollywood (where my sister lives), I don’t have a mortgage. She will die before her mortgage is paid off but hey, she gets to live in California.
Screw that. She is trapped working six and a half days a week trying to keep up her bills and is bitter that I am not doing the same. (My sister and I have a great deal of angst between us.)
In the meantime, my wife and I can use saved money and no loans (even though we only live on my VA disability) to take vacations every year. My sister and my cousins are all bitter that I should have such a benefit (because I choose to live in an area I can afford).
Perhaps if I had been allowed the college benefit I was supposedly promised in the military I could have a career that pays more than an unpaid village trustee in a backwater town in nowhereville USA. I do not envy my sister and cousins their lifetime mortgages and credit problems. They chose that, they could live in a place like I do where their mortgage payment for a month would pay a year’s rent here.
Whining, how does it work? The only thing I whine about is being refused my earned college benefits for my military service.
