Hey, I can make farming vegetables sound pretty gruesome too.

Watch:

First, we thrust the seed into the ground and smother it with soil. Then, we nearly drown that seed in water until it starts to poke its head over the soil. Next, we dose it with toxic chemicals to make sure that pests don’t eat them and that they grow even faster than naturally possible. We further dump harsh chemicals on the soil to make sure that the seed germinates and grows fast.

Then, when the plant has grown enough, the farm comes in and chops the plant off at the root, grabs and crushes the plant, to get at the fruit/vegetable, throws them into baskets and moves them to rooms that are cold and full of CO2 to preserve them for shipment.

Tomatoes are alive. They bleed when you cut them! Beets and cherries bleed too. And corn screams when you strip it.
