Trump wants to convey the idea and message that if he were POTUS, he would be able to stop terrorists from attacking anywhere in the world. It would only be if he were actually elected POTUS and sh*t started happening that he’d realize that he would be unable to fulfill this campaign promise, and when anyone would mention his failure to keep the promise, he’d take to the podium in the WH to insult anyone who reminded him of it. Hell, I think if he were ever POTUS, he’d find a way to keep his Twitter account and use it to denigrate anyone who dared question him. If some Americans thought Cheney was running a shadow government under Bush, I think that is exactly what we’d have under Trump. I just cannot imagine him wanting to be bothered with the minutiae involved in actually governing in a responsible manner. I can also envision him using his position to further enrich himself. He already hinted at this when he mentioned he’d approve the Keystone Pipeline and try to figure out a way to make money by doing it.
