One of of the more insidious effects of lying and being lied to, is that you lose the ability to discern between lies and truth, including, for the liar, the compass which tells him (or her) what he (or she) can βget away withβ. /1

At some point, the mind of the individual gives way to the massive discrepency between the lie and reality, which can cause a psychotic episode. /END
