Or maybe Putin was playing crazy, so that when he “only” occupies the separatist regions, we will be relieved instead of outraged.

There was an article from The Economist I read a few days back (can’t find it now) and the gist of that article was that we cannot assume that Putin is a rational actor.

After yesterday’s insane televised rant, that article now seems almost prophetic.
