Okay. I think that the level of racism shown on Fox News, for example, is larger now, with Obama as president, than it was before. That might be just because they’ve got a black person to talk about regularly.

Likewise, I think that the racists in this country have been emboldened by the acceptance that that racism has found in the GOP, Fox, and other right-wing media networks, and that that’s made them more comfy and open about it over the past while.

It’s possible, of course, that this is just my attention drawn towards it or not, but the SPLC has noted the rise in the racist rhetoric and affiliation as well.

I’m not sure what you’re arguing. Fox News is just noise. The level of racism, as you call it, is only growing louder to people who don’t deal with it in their personal lives, i.e. offline, in our faces.

I live in California, which the SPLC has listed for years having around 80 designated hate groups, including NPP and NOI. But overwhelmingly white bigot groups. Have for most of my live.

The noise level is not new.
