Repeating my “edited to add” section above:

A large portion, and possibly the vast majority of the Republican party believes that Obama cannot win the upcoming election. The economy’s weakness means he’s doomed. As a result the only race that matters is who wins the primary.

That is one reason less effort’s being made to keep the mask for the general election.

Which I totally don’t fathom.

They need to expand their viewing preferences beyond Fox News.

Anyone who really pays attention to the economy (Republicans?) knows it isn’t going to get better in one election cycle.
