Again though, my experiences at OU show this to simply not be true. Apples had died left and right, and yet, this supposedly unreliable Laptop is still chugging along, even being forced to play Fallout 3. By all accounts, my little computer shouldn’t be able to.

Dealing with Apple’s fans at OU have come to make me hate Apple.

Students are notoriously hard on equipment, laptops in particular, and OU isn’t BBDO, Publicis, etc. You’re talking about your anecdotal relationship with individuals, I’m talking about an easily researched commonality among virtually every single major advertising agency in America, their creative departments run on Apple. If you’d spent any time at one you’d know the reason why, everyone prefers it that way, from the creatives themselves to the IT departments that support the networks. They prefer it that way because the stakes and salaries are so high that the increased equipment cost is well justified. A hot shot freelancing copywriter and art director team can charge $10K per day, the amortized cost of the equipment you pay for them to work on is the smallest part of pretty much every project’s budget.
