re: #518 Aceofwhat?

Long time ago I had a norwegian forest cat, best pet i’ve ever had. Gorgeous, just needed a little hello from time to time and otherwise wanted to sit somewhere high and watch over us.

Occasionally a bat would find its way into the house - i loved having them outside (for insect control) but those little things can worm their way into any crevice, like through our attic.

Every single time a bat got in, i’d chase it into a room, put the cat in with it, and sit still and watch. It was never 60 seconds before the bat flew low enough to encounter furred lightning. Then the cat would sniff it and paw it around, at which point (with a glove) i’d pick it up and gently put it back outside.

Bats may be fast, but they never stood a chance.

Hah! You just reminded me of the time a bat happened to make its way into my house, and manage to fly into my room. I had the ceiling fan on, causing the bat to constantly orbit around it my ceiling. The cat was on my bed, jumping up in the air to catch the bat every time it flew over. I was laughing for a solid 10 minutes watching this sequence.

She never caught it, as I was able to chase the bat out with a towel once I regained my composure, but given her commitment to the cause, she eventually would have, no question.
